Independent machinery sourcing · Evidence

food processing machine

Food Processing Machine Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner for plant buyers who need a food processing machine quotation that can be compared on the same cutting duty. Share incoming size, texture, temperature, quantity and destination so factories can return wholesale quotes. This site does not operate a cutting-equipment factory and does not publish a market discount percentage.

Landing-page scope is ingredient cutting after the buyer names the unit operation. Meat grinders, juice extractors, bakery formers, rice mills and homogenizers belong to other keyword landings and are not substituted here. A published motor rating in HP or kW does not replace a cutting test on the buyer’s product.

Resolve procurement unknowns

Known input
Buyer-named food, incoming length in mm or in, texture, temperature band, target cut size in mm, and whether the pieces are raw, cooked or chilled when they meet the knives.
Supplier confirmation
Feed configuration, cutting components for that output, expected fines and off-size under the named feed rate, and which tools or guards are exchanged between slices and dice.

Compare procurement cost boundaries

Machine price, delivery and site work are different cost buckets. A food processing machine quotation that mixes them hides whether the buyer is paying for a cutting cell or for an installed project. Ask each factory to keep the buckets on separate lines so total landed cost can be compared without a percentage claim.

Machine

Frame, drives, listed cutting head, standard knives for the named cut, infeed that the supplier marks as inside the machine boundary, and PLC interface hardware if it sits on the same line.

Delivery

Export packing, inland haul, ocean or air freight, destination duties, and unloading at the plant. These items change with quantity and destination even when the knife list is identical.

Site

Footprint, three-phase supply, connected load, compressed air demand, cooling water if the gearbox needs it, sanitation drainage, and conveyors that present product without surges.

No numerical saving claim without comparable quotations.

Duty envelope for a cutting inquiry

Material entering the machine
Record incoming size, texture and temperature because those three conditions define the cutting test. The same vegetable name can cut differently when chilled versus cooked. Ask the bidder to confirm feed preparation needed to stay inside the stated infeed envelope.
Required output
Write cut size in mm and the share of fines or off-size pieces that production and quality will accept. Throughput in kg/h is only comparable when the feed condition and rate used during the trial are written next to it.
Duty cycle
State shift hours and how often the line moves between slices and dice. Changeover is a tooling and guard question, not a brochure speed question. Spare knives and the time to reassemble contact parts belong on the same RFQ.

How is a cutting trial recorded?

Which incoming size, texture and temperature define the cutting test?
  1. Representative sample

Send the actual product, not a substitute with a similar name. Record piece length, whether it is frozen, chilled, cooked or raw, and the temperature at the infeed. If pre-cutting is required to meet a 254 mm class envelope, name who supplies that step.

  2. Demonstration

Run the named feed rate and inspect the distribution of cut pieces, fines and damaged material. Keep takeaway equipment in the trial if the plant will use it, because discharge congestion changes apparent yield.

  3. Acceptance record

Define pass criteria with production and quality before FAT. Include the feed condition, rate, tooling set and any guards swapped during the run. SAT on the buyer’s floor still needs the same product family unless the contract says otherwise.

What stays outside a cutting-cell quotation?

Cooking, forming, drying, meat reduction, juice extraction, bakery make-up, rice milling and homogenizing stay outside unless the same supplier lists them as separately priced modules. Installation, training, spare parts and extra slice or dice sets are quoted separately when they are not on the base machine line. Engineering acceptance remains a contract signature, not a website statement.
